Hi Friends,
It’s been so amazing to have a week & abit off, but you know I love my little blog so it’s good to get away & it’s good to be back!
This post is going to be photo heavy & word light. A good proportion to give Cornwall the stage it deserves. We were so happy with our choice of location. Not the cheapest option accommodation wise, but for us the best one.
So here are our best bits! I hope you enjoy them.
O N E – WHERE WE STAYED // THE WHITEHOUSE, WATERGATE BAY I booked the apartment via Beach Retreats.
T W O – WATERGATE BAY BEACH I love Watergate Bay, the beach & view from the cliff never fails to take my breath away. I took Sweet Harry for an early morning walk on the beach our first morning & took some stunning photo’s of the beach & my boy who you may see as bright as a button in orange.
T H R E E – WHERE WE ATE // CORNWALL FOODY GEMS
Don’t you just love it when people take pictures of their food & post it on Insta? Yup I admit I did it.
Our favourite place to eat which was new to us was The Beach Hut at Watergate Bay. Relaxed, beachy, foody heaven with a corona with lime, a pint of Tribute & sand on the floor. We’ve never felt so relaxed eating out with our kids.
I chose poached salmon in coconut milk & sticky rice with bok choi from the specials board & Jon fresh battered haddock & chips from the menu, we were both very happy with our choices & I loved that the extra fries came in a bucket! It’s the little things. The view of the beach is amazing, we thoroughly recommend it!
This was our view through the window.
We also returned to the excellent Stein’s Fish & Chips Restaurant in Padstow & had yet another amazing meal there. I would recommend both of these restaurants in a heartbeat. Also, you can’t go away without getting one of these, a holiday staple.
F O U R – KIDS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
My sweet gems had a ball in Cornwall. We were so fortunate to have such a huge balcony with a view of the sea, they just ran around & had a great time together!
F I V E – WHERE WE WENT // EXCURSIONS
My Dad always laughs at me, he says you pay all this money to be right by the beach & then you get in the car & go somewhere else! I must admit we have trouble sitting still, but Cornwall has so much to offer that we hate missing out.
TRURO – A pretty town with all the major shops. Every year we go to Waterstones in Truro & pick out books. It’s become a family tradition.
We bought Home to Roost by Tessa Hainsworth, & The Gruffulo/The Gruffulo’s Child by Julia Donaldson & Axel Schafer.
I also may have stopped at Dunelm Mill, another tradition.
LAPPA VALLEY STEAM RAILWAY – We went last year & loved it so much we returned. It’s great for the kids & Sweet Harry is totally mad about trains & Thomas the Tank Engine.
Lots of rides, a turn on the boat lake & tears when we left! Thoroughly recommend.
PADSTOW – a really pretty seaside town where my Mum was born. Famous for Rick Stein a celebrity chef & his restaurants & patisserie. We love it here!
What are you all doing for your holidays? Something special I hope. Thanks for joining me in Cornwall. Now join my hostesses, make sure you read their blogs too!
With thanks April, Christina, Darci & Natasha.
Until the next time friends, be kind to yourself & each other.
